Franciscans InternationalLyonnais share environmental concerns
Sr. Odile Coirier fmm, FI Advocacy Officer, shares environmental concerns with Lyonnais Franciscans.
“A Franciscan approach to ecology and sustainable development” was the theme of a workshop FI presented to SFO in Lyon, France, on 24 March. The Lyon JPIC invited Sr. Odile Coirier fmm, Advocacy Office to present about her preparatory work with other Franciscans for the forthcoming Rio+20 international conference on sustainable development and the work of FI at the grassroots and the UN. Over 50 participants shared their own concerns about the environment and other injustice issues. Franciscans in France are currently working to submit a report for the country’s second UPR in 2013. The Franciscan Family were keen to collaborate with FI and participate in more workshops.
