First meeting of new IBD in Geneva
The newly appointed International Board of Directors (IBD) of Franciscans International (FI) held their first meeting April 19-21st in Geneva, Switzerland. New members of the Board had the opportunity to meet with the FI Staff Team, visit the United Nations (UN) and learn more about the unique ministry of FI through presentations by the advocacy department and key staff members. FI represents the Franciscan Family at the UN, through our lobbying and advocacy work for justice.
The elected officials of the new IBD are: Doug Clorey OFS, President; Ms Averil Swanton TSSF, Vice-President; and Fr. Jude Winkler OFM Conv, Secretary. Fr. Elias Mallon SA was appointed the interim Treasurer until October 2012 when the Board will have its next meeting in Assisi.
