Eine sich wandelnde Landschaft: Vom Wald zum Feuer<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kroatien haben Umweltzerst\u00f6rung und Migrationsprobleme zu einer Krise der Menschenw\u00fcrde gef\u00fchrt. Von M\u00fcllverbrennungsgruben, die Gemeinden vergiften, bis hin zu Migranten, die zwischen B\u00fcrokratie und Gleichg\u00fcltigkeit gefangen sind, ist das t\u00e4gliche Leben von Ungerechtigkeit gepr\u00e4gt. An der Schnittstelle dieser K\u00e4mpfe steht ein Franziskanerbruder, der sich weigert, wegzuschauen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bruder Benjamin Milkovic OFM, der im B\u00fcro f\u00fcr Gerechtigkeit, Frieden und Bewahrung der Sch\u00f6pfung (JPIC) in Kroatien t\u00e4tig ist, brachte die Anliegen der von Umweltderegulierung betroffenen Gemeinden und der Migranten auf die internationale B\u00fchne und nutzte dabei die Universelle Periodische \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung (UPR) seines Landes durch die UNO als Plattform. Die UPR ist mehr als ein diplomatischer Prozess; sie ist ein Moment, in dem die Stimmen derer, die sonst ungeh\u00f6rt bleiben, auf der Weltb\u00fchne verst\u00e4rkt werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u00f6nnen Sie uns etwas \u00fcber sich selbst und die Ver\u00e4nderungen erz\u00e4hlen, die Sie erlebt haben?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich bin in dem kleinen Dorf Brestanovci aufgewachsen, umgeben von W\u00e4ldern, die mir endlos erschienen. Ich erinnere mich, dass ich als Kind frei zwischen den B\u00e4umen herumlief und in der Natur spielte \u2013 das geh\u00f6rte einfach zu unserem Leben dazu. Heute ist der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Teil des Waldes verschwunden. Abholzung und illegale M\u00fcllverbrennung haben unser Land verw\u00fcstet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich habe Jahr f\u00fcr Jahr mit angesehen, wie sich das entwickelt hat, und sp\u00fcre den Verlust nicht nur in der Landschaft, sondern auch in der Stille, in der fr\u00fcher V\u00f6gel sangen und Kinder spielten. Am meisten schmerzt mich, dass die Kinder, die heute aufwachsen, nicht die gleiche Chance haben werden, von der Natur gepr\u00e4gt zu werden, wie ich es war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sie haben von illegalem M\u00fcll gesprochen. Was sind die Probleme dabei?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicht weit von meinem fr\u00fcheren Wohnort entfernt ist eine kleine Gemeinde stark von M\u00fcllverbrennungsgruben betroffen:offene Fl\u00e4chen, auf denen M\u00fcll ohne Vorschriften verbrannt wird. Der Geruch ist unertr\u00e4glich. Kinder und Familien sind davon betroffen, und dennoch gibt es keine Bu\u00dfgelder, keine Vorschriften, insbesondere f\u00fcr gro\u00dfe Unternehmen. Die Regierung schaut weg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich habe gesehen, wie Umweltvernachl\u00e4ssigung zu sozialer Ungerechtigkeit wird. Wie Kindern ihr Recht auf saubere Luft, auf sicheres Spielen, auf eine Zukunft in der Natur verwehrt wird. Das ist nicht nur eine kroatische Geschichte. Es ist eine globale Geschichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welche Ver\u00e4nderungen haben Sie in Bezug auf die Migration in Kroatien beobachtet?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Migrationslandschaft in Kroatien ver\u00e4ndert sich still, stetig und tiefgreifend. Kroatien ist ein Transitland. Migranten durchqueren das Land und sind oft Schmuggel und Menschenhandel ausgesetzt. Und doch ist jeder Mensch ein Gesch\u00f6pf Gottes, das F\u00fcrsorge und Mitgef\u00fchl verdient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeden Sonntag sehe ich in der Messe mehr ausl\u00e4ndische Gesichter. Obwohl die Liturgie auf Kroatisch abgehalten wird, kommen sie trotzdem. Sie sprechen die Sprache nicht, aber sie beten mit Ehrfurcht und Hoffnung. Ich sehe auch, wie wichtig die Zusammenarbeit in unserer Gemeinde ist, um auf die wachsenden Bed\u00fcrfnisse zu reagieren, denen der Staat nicht oder nur zu langsam gerecht werden kann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wie reagiert Ihre Gemeinde auf diese Herausforderungen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir haben begonnen, \u00fcber die M\u00f6glichkeit zu diskutieren, die Messe auf Englisch anzubieten, damit sich alle wirklich in das spirituelle Leben unserer Gemeinde einbezogen f\u00fchlen k\u00f6nnen. In meiner Kirche leite ich ein Jugendprogramm. Ich hoffe, es auch f\u00fcr ausl\u00e4ndische Jugendliche zu \u00f6ffnen, um ihnen zu helfen, eine Gemeinschaft aufzubauen, Werte zu pflegen und zu guten Menschen heranzuwachsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was hat Sie dazu inspiriert, diese Anliegen vor die UNO zu bringen?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meine Inspiration kommt von Franziskus, seinem Aufruf, f\u00fcr unser gemeinsames Zuhause zu sorgen und alle Mitgesch\u00f6pfe mit W\u00fcrde und Respekt zu behandeln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das ist nicht etwas, das ich nur aus \u00dcberzeugung tue; es ist eine Art, das Evangelium zu leben, das sowohl soziale als auch \u00f6kologische Dimensionen hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was gibt Ihnen trotz der Herausforderungen Hoffnung?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all dem sehe ich eine tiefere Wahrheit. Unsere Reaktion auf Migration und Umweltungerechtigkeit spiegelt unsere Werte wider. Und ich glaube, dass wir es besser machen k\u00f6nnen. Wir m\u00fcssen es besser machen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn ich Migranten sehe, die voller Hoffnung beten, obwohl sie die Sprache nicht verstehen, wenn ich sehe, wie sich Gemeinschaften organisieren, um saubere Luft zu fordern, wenn ich junge Menschen sehe, die eifrig Br\u00fccken zwischen den Kulturen bauen wollen, dann sehe ich das Reich Gottes durchbrechen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wie war Ihre Erfahrung bei der Pr\u00e4sentation vor der UNO?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als ich mit Franciscans International vor der internationalen Gemeinschaft stand, trug ich die Stimmen der Ungeh\u00f6rten, um die Staaten auf unsere gemeinsame Verantwortung, unser Recht auf eine saubere, gesunde und nachhaltige Umwelt und die W\u00fcrde jedes Menschen, insbesondere der Migranten, aufmerksam zu machen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W\u00e4hrend die Menschenrechtsbilanz Kroatiens vor der UNO \u00fcberpr\u00fcft wird, schlie\u00dft sich Bruder Benjamin dem weltweiten Chor der Franziskaner an, die sich f\u00fcr Umwelt- und soziale Gerechtigkeit einsetzen, und beweist damit, dass die Botschaft des heiligen Franziskus heute genauso aktuell ist wie vor 800 Jahren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
