Die Erh\u00f6hung folgt auf Forderungen der Gewerkschaften, die von der Zivilgesellschaft und religi\u00f6sen Organisationen, darunter auch Franciscans, unterst\u00fctzt wurden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eDer Tageslohn der Arbeiter auf den Teeplantagen in Sri Lanka wird um 550 Rupien erh\u00f6ht. Dies sollte den Arbeitern helfen, ihren t\u00e4glichen Bedarf zu decken, nachdem die Preise f\u00fcr Grundnahrungsmittel aufgrund der Finanzkrise in Sri Lanka stark angestiegen sind\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Pater Patrick Perera OFM in Colombo. \u201eHoffentlich k\u00f6nnen sie nun auch einen Teil dieses Geldes f\u00fcr andere Bed\u00fcrfnisse wie Gesundheitsversorgung, Wohnraum und die Ausbildung ihrer Kinder verwenden.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FI hat bereits zuvor den\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/franciscansinternational.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/CEDAW90_SriLanka.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UN-Ausschuss f\u00fcr die Beseitigung der Diskriminierung der Frau (CEDAW)<\/a>\u00a0und den Sonderberichterstatter f\u00fcr moderne Formen der Sklaverei auf die prek\u00e4ren Lebensbedingungen der Teepflanzer in Sri Lanka aufmerksam gemacht. Insbesondere Frauen und M\u00e4dchen sind mit einer Vielzahl von Herausforderungen konfrontiert, die von unfairen L\u00f6hnen bis hin zu eingeschr\u00e4nktem Zugang zu Bildung und Gesundheitsdiensten reichen. Die anhaltende Wirtschaftskrise hat die Armutsquote im Jahr 2024 auf 24,5 Prozent steigen lassen, wobei laut dem Hohen Kommissar f\u00fcr Menschenrechte weibliche Haushaltsvorst\u00e4nde und Plantagenarbeiter zu den am st\u00e4rksten Betroffenen z\u00e4hlen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der schlechte Zugang zur Justiz und die Straflosigkeit versch\u00e4rfen die Ausbeutung und geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt zus\u00e4tzlich. <a href=\"https:\/\/franciscansinternational.org\/de\/cedaw-franziskanerinnen-sprechen-ueber-die-situation-der-arbeiter-auf-teeplantagen-in-sri-lanka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ein symboltr\u00e4chtiger Fall<\/a>, den FI w\u00e4hrend der CEDAW-Pr\u00fcfung Sri Lankas im Jahr 2025 zur Sprache brachte, war der einer jungen Frau, die 2001 auf dem Weg zur Sonntagsschule angegriffen und vergewaltigt wurde. Mehr als zwei Jahrzehnte sp\u00e4ter, nach langwierigen Gerichtsverfahren und Verz\u00f6gerungen, wartet sie immer noch auf ein endg\u00fcltiges Urteil in ihrem Fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eine Erh\u00f6hung des t\u00e4glichen Mindestlohns geh\u00f6rte zu den Empfehlungen, die die Franziskaner der Regierung von Sri Lanka unterbreiteten.
