Vor diesem Hintergrund fand vom 20. April bis zum 1. Mai 2026 das St\u00e4ndige Forum der Vereinten Nationen f\u00fcr indigene Fragen (UNPFII) bei den Vereinten Nationen in New York statt. Die 25. Sitzung des Forums stand unter dem Thema \u201eGew\u00e4hrleistung der Gesundheit indigener V\u00f6lker, auch im Kontext von Konflikten\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In den Er\u00f6ffnungsreden des Forums wurde betont, wie eng die Gesundheit indigener V\u00f6lker mit dem Land verflochten ist. Dazu geh\u00f6ren auch die Auswirkungen von Kolonialisierung, Umweltzerst\u00f6rung und Klimawandel. In seiner Ansprache an die beim UNPFII versammelten indigenen V\u00f6lker\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.un.org\/sg\/en\/content\/sg\/statements\/2026-04-20\/secretary-generals-remarks-the-opening-ceremony-of-the-25th-session-of-the-un-permanent-forum-indigenous-issues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">erkannte<\/a>\u00a0UN-Generalsekret\u00e4r Ant\u00f3nio Guterres an, dass \u201eGesundheit untrennbar mit Ihrem Land, Ihren Gew\u00e4ssern, Sprachen, Kulturen und \u00d6kosystemen verbunden ist\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tats\u00e4chlich hat Franciscans International im Rahmen seiner Programme und seiner Lobbyarbeit die Auswirkungen von Rohstoffgewinnung, Konflikten und Militarisierung auf indigene Gebiete und die Umwelt, insbesondere auf das Recht auf Gesundheit, dokumentiert. So haben beispielsweise auf den Salomonen weitreichende Abholzungs- und Bergbauaktivit\u00e4ten zu Luft- und Wasserverschmutzung sowie zu Bodenverunreinigungen gef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie w\u00e4hrend des Forums und der Nebenveranstaltungen betont wurde, sind indigenes Wissen \u2013 auch im Hinblick auf die traditionelle Medizin \u2013 und die Wahrung des Rechts auf Selbstbestimmung von zentraler Bedeutung f\u00fcr die Gesundheit der indigenen Bev\u00f6lkerung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>W\u00e4hrend des UNPFII begr\u00fc\u00dfte FI Partner aus West-Papua und organisierte gemeinsam mit ihnen die Veranstaltung \u201eMenschenrechte in Indonesien: Indigene Papua und nationale strategische Projekte\u201c. In der gesamten Region West-Papua gibt es mindestens zehn solcher Projekte, die mit der erkl\u00e4rten Absicht verabschiedet wurden, durch den Ausbau physischer und nicht-physischer Infrastruktur eine prosperierende indonesische Gesellschaft zu verwirklichen. In der Praxis werden diese Vorhaben zu gro\u00dffl\u00e4chigen Landraubaktionen auf den traditionellen Gebieten der indigenen Bev\u00f6lkerung f\u00fchren und verursachen bereits jetzt eine weitreichende Zerst\u00f6rung der Umwelt. Die Podiumsteilnehmer hoben die Gemeinschaft von Biak hervor, die mit systematischen Landraubkampagnen konfrontiert ist, sowie das Merauke-Projekt, bei dem das weltweit gr\u00f6\u00dfte einzelne Entwaldungsprojekt durchgef\u00fchrt wird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Als eines ihrer Mitglieder nahm FI auch an Veranstaltungen teil, die von der\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/miningwg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mining Working Group<\/a>\u00a0(MWG) organisiert wurden. Zu diesen Veranstaltungen geh\u00f6rten eine Podiumsdiskussion mit dem Titel \u201eGesundheit, Wohlergehen und W\u00fcrde indigener V\u00f6lker in den L\u00e4ndern der \u201aLunge der Erde\u2018\u201c sowie der j\u00e4hrliche Globale Dialog der indigenen V\u00f6lker der MWG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Angesichts des bevorstehenden 20. Jahrestags der\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/development\/desa\/indigenouspeoples\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2018\/11\/UNDRIP_E_web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UN-Erkl\u00e4rung \u00fcber die Rechte indigener V\u00f6lker<\/a>\u00a0wird sich FI gemeinsam mit seinen Partnern weltweit weiterhin f\u00fcr den Schutz der Rechte und Gebiete indigener V\u00f6lker einsetzen, indem sichergestellt wird, dass die Stimmen der indigenen V\u00f6lker bei den Vereinten Nationen Geh\u00f6r finden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-background has-small-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#f4f5f6\">Dies ist eine automatische \u00dcbersetzung.
