Los Estados miembros del CVF y los Estados insulares del Pac\u00edfico se han hecho eco desde entonces de esta petici\u00f3n, solicitando que el mandato se instituya en 2021 para proteger mejor los derechos de quienes se encuentran en primera l\u00ednea de los impactos clim\u00e1ticos. Estos llamamientos reiteran las demandas formuladas por organizaciones de la sociedad civil ya en 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En oto\u00f1o de 2020, la Asociaci\u00f3n Interamericana para la Defensa del Ambiente (AIDA), el Centro para el Derecho Ambiental Internacional (CIEL), Franciscans International (FI), Natural Justice, Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC), la Alianza Panafricana para la Justicia Clim\u00e1tica (PACJA) y la Red de Acci\u00f3n Clim\u00e1tica de Vanuatu (V-CAN), llevaron a cabo consultas regionales a trav\u00e9s de Internet con m\u00e1s de 150 expertos de la sociedad civil y de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de m\u00e1s de 50 pa\u00edses, con el apoyo de la Oficina de Ginebra de la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES). El objetivo era recoger opiniones sobre la idea de que el Consejo de Derechos Humanos establezca un mandato para un nuevo Relator Especial de la ONU sobre Derechos Humanos y Cambio Clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El informe \u00ab\u00bfUn Relator Especial de la ONU sobre Derechos Humanos y Cambio Clim\u00e1tico? Perspectivas regionales\u00bb canaliza estas perspectivas con el fin de informar los debates sobre la cuesti\u00f3n. Presenta recomendaciones clave de la sociedad civil y de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas sobre la creaci\u00f3n de este mandato, recogidas a trav\u00e9s de consultas regionales en todo el mundo, que fueron
